George Starkey, also known by the pen name Eirenaeus Philalethes, was an English alchemist, whose writings in chemistry and medicine, who heavily influenced famous scientists and philosophers, Issac Newton, John Locke, and Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. Though never regarded as a "prominent" figure in science, he has still been a huge, unseen and unknown,part to the development it has taken over the last four centuries. That is, of course, if George Starkey and Philaethes are, in fact, the same person. Though it is often assumed, it has not been proven. The more you know.
