Gertrude Stein called people like Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Dos - TopicsExpress

Gertrude Stein called people like Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Dos Passos, Ford Maddox Ford, Aldous Huxley, Dylan Thomas, Pablo Picasso, and Djuna Barnes The Lost Generation, but those people lived fuller lives than most. They lived how they wanted, on their terms, and they made beautiful work. Hemingway fished and drank while he wrote. Fitzgerald went broke and wrote screenplays for hollywood until he drank himself to death at 44. Where will we be when were 44? What will we have left behind? Forget iPhones and angry birds and ps4; those are fleeting things. Where is the product of our emotion? Where the 21st Centurys This Side of Paradise? Where is our Do Not Go Gentle Into that Good Night? Will our generations literary legacy be defined by Twilight? WE are the lost genertation.
