Ghana will be looking to set themselves on their way to a third - TopicsExpress

Ghana will be looking to set themselves on their way to a third successive World Cup appearance when they welcome Egypt to the Baba Yara Stadium for the home leg of their qualification play-off later today. The Black Stars won all three of their group stage qualifiers on home soil by an aggregate scoreline of 13-1 and are favourites to earn a crucial first- leg lead in Kumasi. However, Bob Bradley’s team did not drop a single point on the way to finishing top of their group and will be looking to maintain their 100 per cent record with victory here. Indeed, the Black Stars have not tasted defeat on home soil since going down to Cameroon in Accra during the semis of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, though they have not been beaten at the Baba Yara Stadium since 2000, when they lost to South Africa. However, coach Kwesi Appiah knows his side must not take their opponents for granted in the crucial first leg at the Baba Yara Stadium. WHO WINS TODAY; GHANA OR EGYPT?
