Goal Accomplishment Key #29: Overcome Daily Distractions: During the process of working toward our goal accomplishment, there are so many distractions we complain about those everyday and thinking that we are the victim of those distractions. Actually whats the hard truth is that we are the ones choose to get distracted by letting go of our focus from the task/goal to the unnecessary activities. We are RESPONSIBLE for staying on track by not allowing those non-living things such as TV, radio, and internet and Humans - friends or neighbours. They do what they want but you are the one failed to do what you NEED to do, instead you go on to follow what you WANT to do and blaming that you are distracted. Your wants give pleasure but really your needs that are going to take you closer to the goal accomplishment. Some of you kept yourself alone but still complain about getting distracted. The reason is not choosing to prioritise the work, instead doing multi-tasking in the motive of finishing many things at lesser time or fear of losing any those so-called important things. FOLLOW These Rules: a) Understand what makes you to get distracted. - If you think of your previous experiences on getting distraction, I am sure that you are the one who allowed you to not complete the task in right time, not those people around you or events that goes around you Because you didnt CHOOSE to decide and act whats necessary. b) Not everything is important - Many fail to understand what really important is and what really urgent but not important. If every email, conversation, meeting agenda, or phone call that comes up distracts you, you likely dont know what is important. c) Give Yourself Some Breaks: Your mood will not continue to be same till the end as same as you had had at the beginning of the task. Taking small breaks by getting completely off from the task and do NOTHING, just breathe.It benefits you immensely. d) Decide Not To Procrastinate: Try not to put off what you need done NOW for later. By doing that, you will only be left with more things to be done tomorrow. Note: Stay polite with others when you need to ignore their unnecessary attentions. SMILE.
