Good job guys in favor of Amendment 1 Farm Bill. You won by a nice margin, though it was closer than I would have expected it. As people get educated on the issues of GMO, I think youre going to see a change in farming practices, if Monsanto doesnt legislate THAT right away. lol. At least I hope so. This was not a party vote tonight (although Republicans liked to couch it as such big lib support and that kind of language). I know probably a dozen card-carrying Republican women that voted No on this. The people who come to these primary elections are educated and intentional. For 45% of the vote to go AGAINST something that was worded very in FAVOR of it, well, thats a big big deal. So the people unhappy with Monsanto, largely, are making their voices heard in substantial ways. Im proud of how far the movement has come and how many people have at least explored the issues. As more women my age and younger seek out answers to their question regarding GMOs/pesticides and their families, we should expect to see more votes going like this. Last big election, women were the majority of voters, and Im very happy with that. Definition of insanity is to keep doing what youve been doing, and expecting a different result. It will be interesting to see where we go from here.
