Great News! Most of the wines for the Main Event have gone on sale, so we are reducing the price to $20. and seats are still available. Jake was in the store recently and he is truely an expert on the wines from Chile, and a very entertaining speaker. Most importantly, the wines are all very good and great values! Hope you will join us. What: Hot Today, Chile Tomorrow with Guest Speaker Jake Pippin When: Wednesday, June 25, 7:30-9:30pm Where: Western Reserve Wines, 28300 Miles Rd., Solon 44139 Cost: $20.00 With almost perfect growing conditions Chile has still not realistically hit its overall quality potential with fine wines. However, while many of the big producers in Chile have kept the status quo of high volume and moderate quality, there have always been a handful of family wineries who concentrate on low yields and superb wines and are exploring the new and cool climate regions to attain the potential that is truly possible. Importer Vine Connections has recently added a stunning lineup of wines from small producers in Chile that will delight your palate and make you wonder why what they are doing has not been attained by the vast majority of Chilean wineries. Leading this tasting will be our guest speaker, Jake Pippin, National Chile Manager of Vine Connections. Jake studied Geography as an undergraduate at the University of Oregon, which ultimately led him to the world of wine while he studied abroad in Austria. His appreciation for soil, rocks, and a sense of place has helped him become a wealth of knowledge about Chilean terroir. He also studied Theater and excels in making the wine experience educational, approachable, and transformative. Jake worked for Wines of Chile for over two years, where he worked with over 95 Chilean wineries and their US importers to promote, market, and educate about Chilean wine in the US. He helped coordinate and develop Chilean master classes with the Guild of Sommeliers in key US cities, as well as promotions with key restaurants and publications. His time with Wines of Chile lead him to Vine Connections, where he is known as “the Chile Guy”. Much of Chile is still misunderstood or undiscovered as winemaking territory, and Jake is eager to open peoples’ eyes to ‘The New Chile.’ Join us and see what the future has to offer! This is an educational, sit-down tasting so reservations are required. Please call 440-498-9463, email us at info@westernreservewines or register on line at westernreservewines. Cheeses, breads and charcuterie will be served to complement the wines.
