Great day spent on the campaign trail with OUR next Lieutenant Governor Lisa Brown with plenty of great company including Anne Schauer Brockway, Judy Daubenmier, Donald for Livingston County Commissioner, Mike Michael Tipton, and others. Then our entourage headed to the Uptown Coffeehouse for a meet and greet hosted by Lisa Brown and my next Michigan state senator, Shari Pollesch. In addition to our political celebrities, Melissa Gilbert of Little House on the Prairie fame stopped in to support both campaigns. Her visit resulted in a somewhat hilarious situation when a young man at the front of the crowded coffeehouse asked me if I know the lady .... Red.... (My bad hearing filled the blanks with the lady in the Red dress). Never one to miss an opportunity to garner a vote for my candidate, I very happily proclaimed, Yes, that is our soon to be Lieutenant Governor, Lisa Brown, would you like to meet her?. The young man responded with an especially eager Yes so I practically dragged him through the crowd towards where Lisa was stationed. Just about the time we got to her and just as I called out, Lisa, this young man is very eager to meet you the young man stopped me and pointed back towards Melissa Gilbert whom we had just passed and stated, I meant that redhead over there, do you know her? Sadly, I had no choice but to burst his bubble by telling him Sorry Charlie, I dont know her, so you are on your own.
