Guys! Since Im in the technical trade and do a lot of repairs and help a lot of people with buying computers, Id just like to share a couple of things so when your buying this christmas youre not going to regret purchasing a computer / tablet. Let me start with computers: One of the major thing I see people do is jump at the cheapest offer on any computer / laptop out there. Recently there has been a couple of cheap computers that have lower specifications and all they do will give you headaches. Im just posting this as I want to share a bit of knowledge! Make sure when your buying a computer unless youre only browsing the web not to get an AMD E1 or AMD A4. They are a really cheap processor and only meant for web browsing and really light work. If youre looking for something for watching movies, quick start up and something that isnt going to be slow all the time when you use it writing out them documents look for the following processors: Intel i3 Intel i5 AMD A6 AMD A8 Also make sure you have a minimum of 4 GB of RAM, Computers nowadays generally have this, there is no need to go over 4 GB of RAM unless you are opening loads and loads! If youre looking for high performance, something that can play games look for the following processors: Intel i5 Intel i7 AMD A8 AMD A10 These processors are great performance processors, while pricey will get the job done, also if youre looking at high-end performance, make sure you have at least 8 GB of RAM. People ask me to recommend brands, I always say the same thing, most of the time it aint the brand giving you trouble if you did have trouble on your last machine, its the specification that you were running. Toshiba, Acer, HP are all great machines. Just make sure you follow my buying guide! ------------- Tablets! If youre not an apple fanatic and want to save some money this christmas, look at LGs line up of tablets, they are quick, fast and dont give hassle like all the cheaply built tablets. You can get cheap tablets for around 79 - 99 but whats the point, have a quick look at the demo, you will see a cheap build, cheap looking screen and generally they only have around 512mb to 1GB of RAM, even if your buying it for a child, remember to look at the screen and say to your self with this hurt my childs eyes, will it be slow while they are playing games. With quality tablets costing from 179€ upwards from LG / Samsung you will always know that they wont cause you a problem, Get them too cheap and you will have issue with power, bad screen quality. ------ Overall if you need me in Harvey Norman, give me a shout here for more information or come instore to talk to me, everyone on facebook that I have dealt with has been really good to me keeping me a float with business and Ill always do a very good deal with you guys :)
