HIDDEN TREASURE I walked along a lonely road to see where it - TopicsExpress

HIDDEN TREASURE I walked along a lonely road to see where it would lead, It ended by a pasture lot, A place it seemed that time forgot, Where there was soil and weed. I walked within this lonely place, Adventure on my mind, A simple pleasure I could find, But I didnt find a trace. Then in a distance it caught my eye, An outline of a shattered wall, A roof that looked like it would fall, A symbol of an age gone by. Within the frame of a broken beam. A treasure of love I spied, One that never died, Of someones unspoken dream. A red convertible was sitting there, With hay bales all around, A treasure never found, Like a ghost appearing out of air. I could imagine the laughter and joy, Brought by this bright shiny car, Driven under the star, By some riveting girl or boy. I slid my hand across the seat, As I got right in, Feeling I committed a sin, By enjoying this secret retreat. I quietly walked back across the lot, Feeling exhileration within, Of the secret place Ive been, Knowing that nothing is ever completely forgot! By Rebecca Wiles
