Tope Obileye, the Special Assistant (MDGs) to Oyo state Governor Abiola Ajimobi, was last year awarded a contract to build a block of 2 classrooms in the only school at Alubata village in Atiba LG area of Oyo State. As we speak, one year after, Mr Obileye has not executed the contract, and there are no visible plans in place to do so. It is unfortunate that the failure of contract is exacerbated by the fact it is now the middle of the rainy season, and school children are having a hectic time learning in school, with leaking roofs in crowded classrooms. Our reporters also uncovered the fact the guy is so powerful to the extent that Chief Lasisi Ayanyinka Ayankojo, a high ranking official within the administration (as chair of the local government service commission, and originally from the affected Atiba local government) has taken up this issue with Mr Obileye, to no avail. As a result of this, we present his telephone numbers here and expect all sons and daughters of Oyo federal constituency, and indeed fellow citizens of Nigeria, to mount a campaign of phone calls, to call this man to account and get him to act (His phone numbers are numbers are 08036588118 and 08055822548). In the meantime, we are deeply concerned that this person appear to enjoy the protection of the Governor such that he has defiantly refused to execute the project. We hope this is not the case, and that Governor Ajimobi will rein him, and the project will be executed within the next few weeks.
