HON. OWHEFERE CONGRATULATES GOV. UDUAGHAN ON DELSUTH SUCCESSFUL KIDNEY TRANSPLANT IT is at this occasion of the landmark achievement of the first successful kidney transplant at the world-class Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara, that a famous quote by one of Americans most prolific journalists and author, Napoleon Hill, which says that whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it surely can achieve., comes to mind. Since assumption of duty as the Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has left no stone unturned at the total overhauling and repositioning of our health centers to global standards. Thus, when the state government signed an MOU with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Centre (UTSMC) to midwife the dream of developing a centre of excellence for kidney transplant and treatment of kidney related diseases, some of us who are aware of His Excellencys abilities never doubted the viability of this project. Today, history has been made and the monumental financial investment in the hospital project is being hugely justified. This will go a long way to silence those who believe nothing works in Delta. With the 2014 budget recently passed by myself and other Honourable colleagues which had the upgrading of designated health centres among its cardinal target, it is my earnest conviction that more medical feats will sooner than later be recorded in our health centers. While I congratulate the Governor and the management of the hospital for this giant stride, I enjoin all those with kidney complications to take advantage of the facilities at the DELSUTH most especially the subsidized dialysis.
