Had an interesting experience today. - Open Streets. Complete Downpour. I lock up my bike. Marisa goes to lock up her bike 20 minutes after me on the same pole as mine. Dude under tent has hers kickstanded near the pole. As Marisa goes to lock up the lady becomes aggressive & tells her shes going to lock up there. Marisa finds another pole & leaves altercation of sassafrass. Hour Later I go to unlock my bike & Dude Sassafrass LadyPants has locked through my waterbottle cage. I think, mistake, others around think it was done on purpose. I take my cage off, leave note on the seat of her bike & take her cheap helmet out of some sort of trade you this for that exchange party. We leave for salad before tattoo meal. - Return to tattoo land & the bike is still there...finally I get a phone call & I see the lady on her phone talking to me across the street. I tell her to come to the shop. She walks in & hands me the cage, I hand her the helmet which she just realized I took in some sort of ransom or something & did not state in the note. She asks if I knew Marisa (who is unlocking outside the shop), I said yes & then she told me that was the reason she locked to my bike. The interaction with Marisa had made her so upset that she locked to a bike of a stranger (me) and I was so confused by the aggression she started to get into that I told her it was unnecessary & asked her to leave. I didnt have time to ask the reasoning or what she was trying to accomplish by locking my bike up. She was sharp, short & biting. I havent had an interaction with a human like that in forever. - The End. Cage returned, helmet returned, weird-craziness confirmed. - Lessons learned: happy I always carry tools so I can still ride my bike in times like these. People are insane & crazy & so am I. Tattoos are still cool.
