Had to spend half the day going back and forth with Centurylink, with them putting me through the same power down the modem Reset the modem nonsense before finally believing me that there is a problem with the PHONE LINE! Every person I would talk to would tell me Oh, we can fix the problem over the phone without sending a technician out, do this, and this, and this, and what do you know.........nothing would work, because there is no signal! A signal shows up now and then, but not enough to give me any kind of connection. Its been ridiculously slow for about a week now, and has not been anywhere close to the speed its supposed to be for months. When I hook a speaker up, there is no dial tone, and just static noise. I went and opened up the main telephone connection box, and found the connections in there all looking very corroded. Im not talking about the box on the side of my house. Ive already been through that multiple times. Just irritates me how long it takes to get through to these people, that you are not the average idiot, and that the router does not simply need to be reset. So FINALLY after multiple calls, and being transferred back and forth, they are actually sending someone out tomorrow. I can appreciate not wanting to send a technician out for every stupid little modem issue, but for crying out loud!
