Happening downtown Friday, Aug. 2 at Temple Plaza, 100 N. Vermilion St., is the final concert for this year’s Summer Sounds Concert Series presented by Cellular One. The free concert, featuring Duke Tomatoe & the Power Trio, will be from 6-9 p.m. and is put on by Downtown Danville, Inc. and Danville AMBUCS. We will be ready to serve drinks at 5 p.m. at the plaza. The food vendors are set up and ready to serve then too so invite your friends and family to join you for the last big concert of the summer downtown. Downtown Danville Rotary members will be onsite at the concert selling raffle tickets for its annual fundraiser where you can win two season Illini football tickets. Chances are $20 each, and the drawing will be held at the end of the concert. Downtown Danville Rotary is a Summer Sounds sponsor and members are happy to be a part of a great downtown event with a fundraising effort that raises money to help support for many local non-profit groups.
