Happy Birthday today (Jan. 20) to Northern Irish musician Nathan Connolly, best known as lead guitarist & backing vocalist for Northern Irish/Scottish band, Snow Patrol (2006 UK #1 album Eyes Open, 2006 UK #6 single Chasing Cars); he joined the group near the end of 2002 & played a large role in shaping their successful, layered sound; with Nathan as a composer of the bands new material, Snow Patrol garnered a new record deal & released their major label debut, Final Straw in 2003, which proved to be their national breakthrough; follow-up Eyes Open (2006), and its hit single, Chasing Cars, topped the UK albums chart & was the best-selling British LP of the year, selling over 6 million copies worldwide; the groups latest release (their 6th) is the 2011 Fallen Empires; in 2010, Snow Patrol were commemorated with a Heritage Award - a plaque was erected on the Duke of York pub in Belfast where they had performed their first gig…
