Happy Thanksgiving! May you find yourself being extra thankful this weekend as you recall the blessings and joys of walking with Jesus. And if giving thanks seems difficult this year due to life’s circumstances, know that Christ cares for you more than you do, and promises to be our sufficiency. May the Lord fill our hearts with praise... As we prepare for gathering together for Sunday worship – here are some upcoming things to take note of: - If anyone has appropriate magazines that could be donated to the kids ministry (to cut pictures out of), please bring them to church tomorrow (Sunday) for the 10:30 am service. Thanks!! - We will be taking up a special offering tomorrow (Sunday) that will go towards Ebola relief in West Africa. 100% of the funds received will go towards the relief effort via the Wesleyan Church Emergency Relief Fund, in cooperation with local authorities and ministry agencies. The Ebola crisis has been growing exponentially for at least 4 months... The number of new cases has been doubling every 20-30 days... Sierra Leone, alone, is seeing 5 new Ebola infections every hour. Over 4000 people have died since the outbreak has started. THANK YOU for giving what you can tomorrow! - We are in need of more volunteers to help out with Trunk or Treat, on Friday, October 31st. Volunteers can serve in the ‘trunk zone’ or in helping out with games, crowd flow, etc. Please sign up at the welcome center desk – or if you have questions, please contact myself (Pastor Ken) or Shannon Andersen ([email protected]). Volunteers would need to be available from 5:15 – 7:45 pm. Clean-up would take place on Saturday for those that could help. - Have you thought about being a member of our church? Would you like to know what membership means? To find out answers to your questions, or to be more informed – join with Pastor Ken on Sunday, November 2 for a Q & A session and a pizza lunch following the morning service. No obligation of membership is required. All non-members are welcome to attend... - Never been baptised? If you are walking with Jesus, and would like to publically declare your faith with this biblical practice of testimony – please contact Pastor Ken for more info on how you can be baptised. - Set aside the date – Sunday, November 30th – and plan to be in attendance at our church (10:30 am). Our District Superintendent and Assistant District Superintendent will be joining us, and sharing an exciting opportunity for our church. - Want to make a difference? Contact Pastor Ken if you would like to know more info about an upcoming missions trip opportunity to Nicaragua from Feb. 25 – March 5, 2015. - On Saturday, November 8, our church is hosting a marriage enrichment retreat, for all married couples. It will run from 9 am – 4 pm, with a one hour lunch break. There is no cost to participants – as the church is covering the fee. Couples can begin registering next week (October 19).
