Happy birthday mum Miss you! She goes on As a star returns to heaven, we all feel the pain, Its always more difficult for the ones who do remain, You brightened up so many lives, both young and old loved thee, But in the end you suffered, God chose to set you free. What do I remember most, your wit, your style, your grace?, Or how you had the presence to put a smile on every face?, People loved to meet you, you were a shining ray, People loved to meet you to brighten up their day. You were the perfect wife to dad, to us the perfect mother, If I had a million choices, I would choose no other, Never one to get alarmed, you were never one to fuss, But you were the heart and soul of the Listowel bingo bus. You battled so bravely against the cruel and heartless cancer, You wanted to ask God why, you never got an answer, You never steered from the path of truth, never did lose faith, Thank God we got to say goodbye before it was too late. For now we have to say goodbye, now we have to part, You captured everybodys mind and everybodys heart, Mind yourself dear mother, enjoy your island in the sky, Margaret, she goes on but for now we say goodbye.
