Happy birthday to Commonfolk, an unique coffee roasting business - TopicsExpress

Happy birthday to Commonfolk, an unique coffee roasting business and café with an attached arts studio in the heart of Mornington’s dynamic industrial precinct. The business turns two on Australia Day, and is the perfect example of young citizens being innovative, contributing to the local economy and creating jobs in the process- all key focuses of the Commonwealth Government. The Abbott Government wants to encourage more businesses like Commonfolk because it believes creating the right environment for entrepreneurs and supporting small business are critical components of creating a strong, stable economy and therefore a strong country. The Abbott Government has abolished the world’s biggest carbon tax to reduce business overhead costs. We have now signed free trade agreements with Japan, China and Korea, which are enabling local businesses to be more competitive. As Small Business Minister, I have overseen the slashing of more than $2 billion in red-tape so that businesses have more time to spend on growing, and have introduced a number of measures to protect and advise businesses, like the Franchising Code of Conduct and the Single Business Service website. All of these initiatives serve to create the best environment for small business and family enterprise to grow and prosper and I don’t think there is anywhere better to build a small business than in Dunkley.
