Have you ever stopped to think about how much money its going to - TopicsExpress

Have you ever stopped to think about how much money its going to take to fund your retirement? It may shock you to see the real numbers. Unlike a certain federal government, if we run out of money, we are in big trouble! We dont have the luxury of printing up extra cash when we over spend. I was having this conversation with a friend earlier this afternoon. As I advised her, you need to know your number. Example: If you are 45, currently earning $100,000 per year and would like to retire at 65 with the same level of income (adjusted for inflation), what will it take? For some, retirement will be a smooth transition. For most, it will not. Most retirement plans are designed to provide maybe 75 - 80 percent of your current income when you retire. Call it whatever you choose, but thats a fixed income. And if its not fixed properly, you are in for a rude awakening. And if you are counting on Social Security, you may want to talk to your doctor about increasing your meds. Sadly, this is the bill of goods most Americans have been sold. Not this kid! We chose a much safer path. Check out the calculator and to see your numbers. Its a generic site and doesnt ask for personal information. calcxml/calculators/retirement-calculator
