Havenbrook Funeral Home 3401 Havenbrook St. Norman, Oklahoma 73072 Robert Lee “Bob” and Carolyn Sue Waddle 1939 - 2014 1943 - 2014 Robert Lee “Bob”, 75, and Carolyn Sue Waddle, 71, longtime residents of Norman passed away Friday, May 16, 2014. Bob was born February 26, 1939 in Cutler, California to Clark and Louise (Kees) Waddle and Carolyn was born April 9, 1943 in Roswell, New Mexico to Thomas and Oma Pearl Holmes. Tragedy hit the Waddle family May 16th. As Bob and Carolyn were traveling back to Oklahoma to spend time with their family, they were in a fatal car wreck; and just as they spent all their time together, they were called home to the Lord together. They will be missed beyond words. Bob and Carolyn would have been married for 54 years on the 28th of May this year. They raised their kids in Norman among many family and friends for over 30 years. Bob and Carolyn were hard workers who could never sit still. Bob, was a general contractor, and most recently co-owned Universal Screen Printing with his sons. He also enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle with Carolyn and their friends. Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and made sure family and friends were taken care of when visiting her home. Bob and Carolyn spent their retirement years traveling around the country meeting and making new friends. They were devoted Christians and lived their lives honoring their lord and savior. Their children will remember their parent’s love as unconditional and perfect. Over the last two years they resided in Mercedes, Texas at Llano Grande. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Don; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Rider. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers, J.C. Holmes and Mack Leon “Tony” Holmes; and her sister, Pauline Hudson. Bob and Carolyn are survived by their children, Tony Waddle and his wife Susan of Norman, Shelly Lewellen and her husband Kirk of Murfreesboro, TN, Todd Waddle and his wife Toni of Edmond, and Brian Waddle and his wife Kellie of Pawhuska, OK. Bob and Carolyn were lovingly known as Papa and Nana to 13 grandchildren, Zach, Nick, Haley, Bren, Cody, Nicole, Kadie, Austin, Morgan, JT, Ali, Brittany, and Avery. Bob is survived by his brother, Keith Waddle and his wife Shirley; his sister, Shirley Rider; and sister-in-law, Jerrie Waddle of Norman. Carolyn is survived by her five brothers, L.V. Holmes and his wife Selma of Springfield, MO, Tommy Holmes and his wife Stella of El Paso, TX, Acey Holmes and his wife Pat of Marshfield, MO, Dexter Holmes of Casa Grande, AZ, Steve Holmes and his wife Tish of Springfield, MO, David Holmes and his wife Carol of Fordland, MO and Jim Holmes and his wife Darlene of Springfield, MO; his two sisters, Wilma Wallace of Pauls Valley and Jane Allen and her husband Silas of Springfield, MO. The family will be present to receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman. Memorial services will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014 at the Henderson Hills Baptist Church officiated by Paul and Mary Burleson, 1200 E. I-35 Frontage Road in Edmond, OK. Bob and Carolyn’s wishes were that donations be made to Vital Truth Ministries, P.O. Box 6147, Norman, OK 73072. Arrangements for Bob and Carolyn and their family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at HavenbrookFuneralHome.
