Havent seen this scenario before on roof shingles. The roof only appears to be about 10-15 years old (based on staining and minor moss growth at the edges of the shingles) but there are 2 areas at the east and south facing surfaces where the roof has vertical physical cracks several feet long through the surface of alternating singles. The roof decking was not soft, H clips in place, trusses were in good condition. I know of the class action suits from the 90s, but these shingles didnt have tons of microfractures and the finish otherwise was in generally good shape for the age. any thoughts on whats happening?
