Hawaii county Civil defense ,Hawaii state Dept of Health and the EPA region 9 office still dont have a common plan in effect on how to deal with under ground storage tanks. Meaning what to do if or when the current gas stations could be in the Lava flows Way. After speaking to the EPAs under ground storage tanks dept Steve linder, Hawaii state Dept of Health Underground storage tanks yesterday and Hawaii county Civil defense today they are still working on the proper way to ensure public and emergency responders safety dealing with these Tanks. Hawaii county Civil defense is also so way behind the Ball when getting hooked up to the EPAs Air Now Program. After speaking with the CD today they clam they will be setting up monitors to measure the air quality and have those results posted Via the EPAs Air Now we site, giving the public a chance to see whats in the air they are breathing down slope from the Lava flow. With all the above still not in place and having ACT 111 in effect, Hawaii state of emergency and a Presidential emergency all in effect, letting a Large stock pile of tires to burn leaving it to the home owner to remove, not having a in common plan on the gas tanks and not having Air quality testing in effect already... one might ask isnt public safety the Number one role all the Agencies mentioned above ?
