He is sitting on a railway platform to receive a dear friend, who alights from the train and waves at the waiting person. Right at that moment, a deadly bomb blast takes place killing hundreds of passengers (including the friend who has just arrived). He sits stupefied, with his constant companion- a radio. People are running in panic; others are wailing in grief as dead bodies and debris are strewn everywhere. While running, someone collides with the radio and it starts playing a song. In a moment of sheer cinematic brilliance, Rajkumar Hirani, captures the tragedy and the irony! Sharing the song that started playing on his radio from the 1958 Raj Kapoor-Mala Sinha movie Phir Subah Hogi, directed by Ramesh Saigal and adapted from Fyodor Dostoevskys novel, Crime and Punishment. The song, penned by Sahir Ludhianvi, composed by Mohammed Zahur Khayyam (popularly known as Khayyam), was sung by Mukesh. https://youtube/watch?v=inq5vYVLQvs
