Health Tip: Stretching is often overlooked as an important component of an exercise routine. Stretching before and after a workout can have tremendous benefits such as increased movement efficiency, decreased risk of injury, increased blood supply and nutrients to joint structures, increased neuromuscular coordination, decreased risk of low back pain, reduced muscular tension, and improved balance and postural awareness. Check out the video below for a basic 5 minute static stretching routine designed to complete on an exercise mat at the end of your workout.
