Heavenly Father, I have had several major paradigm shifts in my thinking which changed the way that I view my environment and the world. None of them, however, have been as great as the change that came in my life when I began to view the world from Your perspective. It wasn’t a sudden transformation so I can’t look back at the exact moment, but it happened after I started following Jesus. Now, when I read things that are difficult to understand, I have found they are much easier to absorb when I look at them from a Biblical standard. Because my ways of thinking are still undergoing a progressive development, I will probably be making thoughtful adjustments until the day I die. Whenever I find myself in the dilemma of looking at any subject from man’s perspective instead of Yours, I always believe what You have to say about it. When I study literature that introduces new concepts or philosophies, I always filter them through my understanding of You and Your Kingdom. I recognize Your sovereign power over all of creation and nothing is outside of Your authority. 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 “The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man’s judgment: ‘For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.” Hebrews 5:14 “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”
