Hello, this is a warning for anyone wishing to import using a dealer to see the horse for you - always get in touch with the vet - speak/email them directly - use google translate if necc or get an interpretr (only cost me £20). A week ago i recieved a vetting report from the dealer on what she said was perfect horse for me, despite a long list of requirements - the main one being no allergies (sweetitch) as 1st PRE had it and its a nightmare where i live due to ponds & ditches. A horse was narrowed down and i asked for a 5* vetting. The vetting came back that the horse had itchy bald spots on back, rump and tail. But the dealer said it needed worming as hadnt been done for a long time as current owners were not very horsey. Despite good discount and money off export price if i rush to get papers ready to be on lorry that weekend i still said no ... i cant take the risk that it could have been sweet itch .... then today i received off the vet, a full email detailing the vetting, in english. - I have to explain you that I SAID to ******** ( dealer) that the mare has signals of pruritus in mane and tail, may be sweetitch allergy, but she said me that please do not say nothing in the inform about that ........ mmmmm. So the dealer was lying to me?? Just to get a sale?? ... the dealer had also had told me the vetting was £200 pounds, the vet also told me the fee was €200 euros - as a vetting is a vetting - and xrays are extra. The vet also told me the dealer had never even seen the horse. And was actually in the UK. The dealer confirmed this when i asked her saying too expensive to fly to spain to look at the horses. Wow. I was shocked. But a fool and his money are easily parted. I have learnt my lesson and now will visit these horses myself or if pref, buy from uk. Horses are 2 a penny in spain at the moment and there are bargains to be found - but its true they keep the best for themselves - you have to look with your own eyes! i had a very lucky escape.
