Help with this baking stuff Sandwich Bread failure : My suspicion is that i wasnt able to knead it properly, but could the salt be a problem too? We dont have regular salt, we have a grinder with sea salt that i ground and measured. Is that a baking recipe problem you think? I also didnt use the all purpose flour called for but instead the King Arthur bread flour yall strongly recommended. Should that flour be treated differently? Im looking over the recipe and trying to find where my screw up(s?) happened. I really think the kneading is the most likely problem. Our bread machine thing has a button that says dough and were looking for the manual to find out if that is what many of you wonderfully suggested to overcome the knead. My hands are still messed up - left hand/wrist swollen so much my FitBit is on the last notch! My normally loose ring is very tight now, too. So depressing. I was really hoping i could start making our own bread. Especially now that Albertsons bought our Safeway and is doing away with the bakery that makes our favorite bread. First we lose Top Foods delicious Cascade bread, now we lose Safeway farm bread. I hope Im smart enough to bake. We just do not like the super processed sandwich bread.
