Here is a portion of what my handout looks like ... One key ingredient to your success teaching children is MOTIVATION. As we all know motivation comes from our students not from us, but we can lay down the ground for our students to be motivated. Teachers need a good skill of activation to do this. Activation is the process of preparing the student to learn. It is the first thing that should happen at the beginning of any learning activity or event. There are four conditions that must be met for a students to become motivated: ATTENTION -- I am interested. RELEVANCE -- I can use this. CONFIDENCE -- I have a belief I can do it. SATISFACTION -- I will obtain rewards or sense of achievement. Of course there will be suggestions on games.
