So my SSs mom told my hubby shed like to change the current custodial arrangement to 50/50. She is the primary now. My hubby visits him twice a week and hes with us on weekends twice a month. We have 2 kids together. My husband asked my opinion, which Im still considering. My first reaction was no because the BM refuses to have any communication with me. She blames me for their relationship not working out. My thought was Im not taking on additional responsibility when we have no communication, especially since Id be responsible for a significant amount of his care (hes 7) because of my hubbys work schedule. I really dont want to talk to her, but sometimes issues come up that require her input as his mom. Im not going to use my hubby as a go between. Thats silly and I just cant enable immature behavior. I told hubby its a no if there is no opportunity for communication on significant issues. But assuming we iron that out, Im struggling with whether to agree. Taking care of my 2 kids (4 and 1) is challenging enough with my work schedule. Adding another child (3 days a week) will be a lot, as again I will have to do the bulk of everything given my hubbys work schedule. If Im being totally honest, I like the schedule as is. Am I being selfish? I know my 2 kids would love to spend more time with him, but in my heart I dont feel like it. Sigh.....
