Heres Gary about to get a little serious on everyone so hold your breath... As many of you know, when it comes to religion, Im agnostic, which is to say that Im not convinced. But Im willing to admit that I dont know and really dont think anyone else does either. Maybe well never know and Im fine with that. For the most part, I agree with the teachings of the Bible and respect the concepts of the ten commandments. I also respect those who really do believe and, in some ways, envy your ability to have faith. What frustrates me, probably more than any one thing when it comes to religion, is when supposedly religious people judge me without knowing me, what Ive been through, and who I am as a person. Additionally, I have little patience for people who feel the need to push their beliefs on me. If Im interested, Ill ask. I am very comfortable talking politics, religion, social issues, etc., with anyone. I try my best to see both sides of an argument and I keep emotion out of it. Thats why I dont register as a Democrat or Republican. I simply like to think about every issue on its own without being told Im a racist, or a baby killer, or some other inane insult. In the end, I am a husband, a father, a straight-forward smart-ass with a penchant for dark comedy and cringe humor, and I love everyone I choose to associate with and will do most anything I can for them. I simply ask of everyone that you do not judge me for being agnostic and especially dont judge my children or my wife, because they all do believe in God strongly. Lastly, as much as I hate grand statements and gestures, Ive chosen this year as my redemption. Ive set a goal for myself to let go of hate and anger, which has controlled my life for so long, and really for no reason. I will take better care of myself, I will spend more time with my family, I will worry less and I will smile a lot more. Thanks to everyone in my life. I love you all. Gary
