Heres another early letter with (I think) interesting content. Brooklyn (Cuyahoga Co.) March 7, 1836 / Dear Sur . . . I have had very good luck this winter. I have got in 113 logs this winter which [is] better than a thump on the back with a mill bar. . . I must now tell you the carrying on in this place. They raise hell in the marrying line. It is Leap Year & the girles is crazy wanting, by their actsion . . . in hopes now because Ezra Robinson has got him a wife. . . Ezra wife looks like a two year old Bull calf starved awintering. Her ankle is biger than her waist and that is a good sine. There is one more marriage that I must tell you of, that is one of Mr. Douds girles whitch is about fifteen years old married a old man about seventy five. He was a widdoer & has nine children I think. That beats me. . . .
