Heres my day 4 entry for Tamara Roses 5 days of perfect songs (passed on to me by Jason A Olinski). This time up #4 brings us Devo. Why? Becuz...spuds, thats why. They were/are an ultra-cool band whos take on music in general has a tendency to come in the side door. Time Out For Fun is the opening track from one of my favorite albums EVER Oh No Its Devo and serves also as the intro to their huge hit Peek-A-Boo. Pretty much ANY track off this record would be perfect, and I REALLY wish they had a actual video for the side 2 track (on my cassette) Big Mess ...one of my all time faves to this day. But Time Out embodies what Devo meant to me - fun, dancy, irreverent, craziness that ignored the rules and embraced our inner (and sometimes outer) geekdom. Absolute Genius. I saw earlier that Zachery Allan Starkey got started with his 5, but Im still waiting on entries from... Rainer Ziehm and Todd Sines - (once again) -your turn. 5 days, 5 perfect songs. Three people to pass it along to on each. Lets GOOOOOOOO!!
