Hey Guys I wanted to contact you all and give an update about Mission U too. We have now been serving the community at Hernandez Middle School for over 9 months. We are serving between, 200 to 400 meals every week. The summer is coming to an end and the need seems to be increasing. We realized when we took on this opportunity that once you start to feed the needy families that we needed to continue. I know that it is only one meal a week, but as my mother stated, “If people are coming out in 104 degree heat that they are coming for more than the hamburger.” We are seeing a growing community of families that are coming on a regular basis as well as new people every week. I am grateful for our volunteers that serve with us every week. They have made this outreach a joyful one. The serving and giving spirit that we have witnessed has been unmatched in my lifetime. They are all heroes in mine and Laurie’s heart. Mission U too is a non-profit organization with 7 locations throughout Central Texas. The Round Rock location has its own budget and acts on its own. This past week we spent the last of funds available to continue. We have the cost for each meal to around $1.10 per person. Our cost for each week is between $250.00 and $500.00. We believe that we are to continue with this ministry but we also need to ask for support in helping us to continue. We are not affiliated with any church or religious organization. We are as we say they’re to Love People and to be, “The Hands and Feet of Jesus. It would be our request to see if you can, “Help Us, Help Others.” There are a couple ways to donate: Money- either by checks or cash or donate online with credit card. Food- hamburger patties, hotdogs, buns, chips, bottled water and condiments (etc) HEB or Walmart gift cards Another way to donate is if you or you know someone who owns businesses that can help us out.
