Hey Toms and She-cats! I wanted to send a note that I received in my email from author Erin Hunter! Here in the UK weve had some very un-British sunshine so everyone is in a good mood - apart from my ancient little dog Missy, who gets very hot and bothered and would really much rather it rained every day. Okay, okay I know you dont want to hear me rattle on about the weather. Theres only one thing everyones talking about at the moment, and thats BRAMBLESTARS STORM. Yes, we are just DAYS away from the release of this years Super Edition which sweeps us back to the Clans at the lake, six moons after the Great Battle. This book was one of the most exciting, and also most challenging, storylines Ive ever created. When we left the Clans at the end of Omen of the Stars Book Six, in my heart I knew that their stories had not finished. Even if their ongoing adventures never made it into publication, the cats would live on in the dark corners of my imagination. I know them all far too well to be able to walk away without a backward glance. Which would make you think that when I learned wed be returning to the lake for this years Super Edition, Id be overflowing with ideas and it would be as simple as tapping into a movie that was already playing inside my head. Not so much! I began by revisiting the final chapter in OTS6 and figuring out the impact that these events might have had on each character. Only then was I struck by how much terrible grief the Clans would have to endure, and by the enormous task facing Bramblestar and the other leaders as they picked their way out of the ruins. Plus of course there were so many questions to answer about Bramblestars role as leader of ThunderClan: Would his older Clanmates be able to put aside their memories of his father Tigerstar? Would Bramblestar himself be able to emerge once and for all from his fathers shadow? What about Squirrelflight? I know many of you remain fascinated by their complicated, strained relationship, and I wanted to figure out where their path might lead. And how would ThunderClan cope without Firestar? How would I?! Ive spent an entire decade of my life walking side by side with this ginger cat; I honestly didnt realize how much I was going to miss him. You know I dont give away spoilers, but I can tell you that these questions - and many more - are answered by the end of the book. Plus of course you have another glorious episode of manga tucked at the back to look forward to. Working with Dan and James on Warriors manga has been one of my greatest delights over the past ten years. Thanks, guys! Now, youd think that anticipating the release of one of the most highly demanded books of the millennium :) would be enough for one newsletter, but oh no....THERE IS MORE. Something INCREDIBLE is coming, something that will have an impact on Warriors fans both old and new, something which, when I had a sneaky preview last week, even brought a tear to my stony eyes. I am beyond excited, and beyond grateful to HarperCollins for this absolute treat. Im not allowed to tell you what it is (and believe me, this is one spoiler I would happily spill!), but the Official Message Boards will be covering a BIG REVEAL VERY SOON. If I were you, Id log on and stare at your screen without blinking from now until that happens.* It will be worth it! *Not really. I mean, everyone needs to eat, and sleep, and interact with their family once in a while. The Big Reveal will still appear, I promise. Wait a minute. I have heard a distant rumble, and it is the noise of the internet exploding with speculation. I should probably say that the Big Reveal does NOT concern a Warriors movie. There is still NO WARRIORS MOVIE NEWS. Whatever is about to be revealed is brilliant and fabulous and utterly thrilling, but IT IS NOT THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF A MOVIE.
