Hey claims Victory League’s highest honour Glenorchy Knights Captain Jayden Hey is the winner of the 2013 Victory League Mitsubishi Motors Best and Fairest Medal. Polling 31 votes from 21 Rounds including six best on grounds, Hey edged out closest rival Jonathon Ladic of Tilford Zebras, who polled 28 votes. The young Knights skipper did not miss a game in the 2013 season, scoring 10 goals for the year, including consecutive hat-tricks in Round 13 and 14. In a year in which his team won just four games, Hey was a shining light, playing through midfield and in defence the 19 year old quickly became a marked man against opposition sides, with versatility, explosive pace and goal scoring ability characterising his stellar year. Victory League Coach of the Year Ken Morton (South Hobart) Each Coach and Captain ranked the Coaches of the 8 Victory League clubs without voting for themselves and the Coach with the most votes was awarded the Victory League Coach of the Year. Forestry Tasmania Goal of the Year Aaron Cairns (Tilford Zebras) The Goal of the Year was voted for by fans every round of the season and then winners were shortlisted by an expert panel. That shortlist was then voted on by fans again to determine the winner. SpecSave of the Year Sam Cornish-Young (Glenorchy Knights) The SpecSave of the Year was voted for by fans every round of the season and then winners were shortlisted by an expert panel.
