Hey guys - Amanda Here - Serendipity saw the vet again today, I was under the impression she would have her eye out but sadly she still isnt well enough to have the GA. I normally send all horses with bad eyes to Manly Rd Hospital, but I knew just by looking at the eye it needed to come out so thought to save her the trip we could just arrange it to come out in the paddock.. I have sent horses in worse condition to Manly rd without a problem but Manly rd take them out standing up so no GA is needed.. The two vets who assessed her just were not comfortable taking it out here at the sanctuary so I have no option but to take her to Manly rd. This isnt a bad thing, Manly rd have the best eye specialist in Australia but I just didnt want to put her through the extra stress of traveling. Ill be calling them to arrange an appointment tomorrow. For now she is comfortable, has become bright and happy grazing and is pushy for her food. Her eye has opened up and she seems pain free which is awesome. Her heart is strong for her age and condition and her gut sounds are perfect now... Things are looking up for her. I will keep everyone posted on her progress but every day she is becoming stronger and stronger :-) Sadly, breeze has laminits from those horrible horrible hooves. The vet seems to think she has had laminitis tomorrow and although she isnt acute ill be sending her to Redlands Veterinary Clinic for xrays and shoes. I just know she will be ok, but its important to get on top of it quickly... Ill keep you posted on her progress.... Blossoms frogs have finally come off.. She came with chronic thrush which was causing her lameness and sadly she abscessed badly in 3 hooves... One hoof had 4 abscesses bust which as you could imagine wasnt pleasant at all. But today, we had some success.. Frogs off 3 hooves, abscesses bust with lots of pus drained out and hopefully she will feel better in no time :-) Trooper has his vet work done today and guess what?? HE HAS FOUND A HOME.. Ill be doing up his contract tomorrow :-) YAY...
