Hey guys, in case you hadnt heard, CUSA executive has been doing some serious financial neglect. Not only did CUSA fail to release audited statements on time (as required by corporate law), our president and former VP Finance openly told CUSA council that we had a surplus from last year. Thats a far cry from a $706k deficit. When I asked our executive about these issues at our financial review committee meeting, the President openly said he made a mistake and was looking at the wrong numbers when he went on the record at CUSA council saying we had a surplus. Thats a bit more than a little oopsie. Under our current executive ( elected under the slate A Better Carleton) the Financial Review Committee (which is supposed to meet monthly to make sure spending is on track and things are transparent) has met a handful of times in a year. In fact, CUSA executive have said that they dont see a need for the financial review committee to review spending. Reaaaaaal transparent.
