Hey musical buddies. I have a fantastic piece of sonic hardware that Im looking to sell to someone wholl actually use it. Its a Roland Fantom XR sampling 128-voice synthesizer module. This thing is pretty nuts; it has a bunch of killer sounds, very (srsly!) fine grained control over how those sounds are generated, a USB connection so you can control it from your computer, good sampling capabilities so you can create new voices, and tons of filters you can apply to the sounds you generate. An example of the songs one can make on this can be found at the attached YouTube clip; they were all recorded using the XR. Two things to note. First, this is a rack-mount unit; youll have to supply your own keyboard or MIDI generator. Second, it doesnt have a built-in sequencer; youll have to supply your own. Fortunately, you can use a software sequencer to send MIDI to the Fantom, and there are a couple pretty good free sequencers out there. I also have a 49 key MIDI sequencer that Im looking to offload, so theres that possibility too. Any rate, if you have any interest in this awesome stuff, hit me up. I havent used either in... years?
