Hey this is Baxter with the Baja Brahs, just want to share a little background and at the end Ill ask a question. The Baja Brahs formed for several reasons...of course #1 to run our Bajas, 2 was to meet and share knowledge with like minded people, baja bug enthusiasts, but the primary reason we established the club was because we were tired of the talkers on other pages. Weve heard everything from my cars not aligned to my dog has a vet appointment that day. It was disappointing that out of 150+ members of a Facebook group, posting how eager they were to meet and participate in runs only 3 showed up. 3 runs same 3 would show up. The 3 of us knew nothing about each other except what we knew on Facebook but we got together and ran our bajas and had a blast. Our cars are home built. Im not a fabricator but I have faith in my welds though they are not pretty, I have experience in custom paint so I applied that in hopes of diverting attention from my metal work😜. One members car is his ride to work but he ran 100 mile loop with us and will be running the 170 miles to stateline. One members motor is held together with JB Weld literally and he still participates in every run and will challenge his motor once again for Stateline. See, we dont judge or discriminate on peoples cars. Were just out for the adventure, meeting new people, seeing what innovative ideas theyve contributed to the baja bug and sharing the stories we develop at every run. Weve made some great friends and i have to say its pretty awesome to hit an intersection with the club on our way to the dirt and all traffic yields til the club is through. I know some were intimidated when there was mention of running 170 miles across the desert, I was a bit nervous the first time I set out to ride it on my dirt bike, but Ive traveled it several times since on both bike and 2 wheel drive pick up. The terrain is not the challenge the distance is. As the primary route planner for the club I do my best to make sure the routes are not only passable but possible and legal. I cross reference Google earth with multiple state and federal ohv and lands maps and also physically prerun every mile before we run it. All that needs to be done is meet to establish a logistical plan fuel etc. we understand that there are those whose cars are under construction or are not local enough to participate but to the others who are local, and whose cars are in service, Id like to know...why dont YOU run with us? #bajabrahs bajabrahs
