Hi All got a few things to write about so have a read. 1. Personalised Jerseys. I will begin to take orders for personalised Jerseys for those that are interested. If you wish to have your own team jersey please comment with your teams name. The correct spelling of your last name. Jersey Size and Number wanted. I will sort out money transfers later in the week for payment. Cash will not be accepted. 2. Proposed change to Award presentations and All star games for C Grade. Currently as the vast majority know, at the end of the season there is an All Star game for both divisions and the Award presentations are made at the conclusion of the games (eg MVP, top defenceman, etc etc etc) My proposal is that we keep the All Star games in as they have proven to be popular for both spectators and fans. How ever the presentation of awards after the game to me is rather informal. I would like to see that C Grade have an Awards presentation Dinner. would cost roughly lets say $30 a ticket you get a meal and can buy drinks from the bar through the night etc. Being named the leagues MVP is a big deal and simply just naming the player after the all star games to me takes away from how special the award actually is. So during the Dinner we would run the MVP award like they do at the AFL Brownlow. round by round voting for both divisions with leader board etc. All other awards for both divisions will be named after the MVPs presentation. What are your thoughts on changing the format of the award presentations? 3. Extra on ice Curriculars and general dickheadry. You play C Grade. C Grade is a Development league, Both Divisions. The league plays host to people of all demographics. 16 yrs to 60yrs. Men and women. players with years of experience to those just starting out. those with bad knees/shoulders etc etc. those that just wish to play socially and those that wish to progress up the hockey ranks. Regardless to which of these best describes you. you and no one else should need to worry about getting Hit or having to defend your self physically on the ice in either divisions of this league. in saying that I know better than anyone that hockey is a physical and competitive sport and that body contact is inevitable but there is a difference between two players battling for the puck and using your weight with power to play your opponents body. Fighting in C grade is completely unacceptable. Its dangerous for multiple reasons at this level of hockey and I cant think of any reason where it is deemed as appropriate. now once again I understand that shit happens in hockey and sometimes tempers can boil over between players but this shit is starting to become a little to frequent in my opinion. My advice to everyone that if in, what is now going to be the VERY unlikely event of a scruffle, you go directly to your bench if you are on the ice. if you are not on the Ice. YOU DO NOT enter the ice at all. Use Common sense please guys. If you are going to be a player that constantly puts the welfare of others in dangers please do my self and everyone else a favour and go play a different sport. thanks guys
