Hi IUJers! Happy Coming New Year to all of you! I wish you all the best in 2015! I need your help and advice on writing a three pager on attracting Japanese investments into Uzbekistan. As you may know due to many reasons currently Japanese companies are becoming very active in doing investments abroad. So recently at a business conference organized by UJC (Uzbekistan-Japan Center for Human Development) in Tashkent, it was stated that the Japanese companies are very keen to enter African and Central Asian countries. Since I was working in attracting foreign investments first in Mongolia and now in Uzbekistan, I got really interested at a prospect of attracting Japanese investments into Uzbekistan as well. As a first step I have offered my help to UJC and they have suggested me to prepare a short article about current investment opportunities for Japanese companies in Uzbekistan. I would appreciate if you could share any materials, papers or reports that can guide me in fulfillment of my task. Thanks in advance! Akmal (Uzbekistan, IDP 2008)
