STUDENTS OF CAMPOS DOS GOYTACAZES HAVE CONFIRMED THE DISCOVERY OF 63 ASTEROIDS !!! The largest amount of discoveries made in Brazil by teams from the same city !!! The participation of 30 teams of students from the city of Campos dos Goytacazes in the Campaign Pan-Starrs was defined from a meeting held during the 7th International Meeting of Astronomy and Astronautics, event organized in the city of Goytacazes in the period 10-12 April, 2014, attended by Dr Patrick Miller, founder and director of IASC, Dr Edson Batista, president of the City Council of the City of Goytacazes and Marcelo de Oliveira Souza, general coordinator of the Louis Cruls Astronomy Club and researcher in UENF. Students From These 63 schools made provisional discoveries of Main Belt asteroids found between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. This is a record for the International Astronomical Search Collaboration (IASC). Over the next few years These asteroids will be Monitored by the professional astronomical community. When Their orbits are fully determined They will be numbered and cataloged by the International Astronomical Union (Paris). Numbered asteroids can then be named by discoverers Their student. Congratulations again to the many students from Brazil For Their fine and dedicated work in astronomy. They did a spectacular job, and IASC welcomes Them back next year to the Pan-STARRS Campaign.
