Hi everyone ..... A few housekeeping items... 1) The information flow on our group wall can get quite heavy and its hard to keep a close eye on everything. We do our best. We try to keep critical or time-sensitive posts at or near the top, but sometimes things get lost... Feel free to bump items up by commenting on them. This is how Facebook is designed to work. Attention creates presence. 2) Apologies for the spam that has been appearing lately. We try to keep an open mind when allowing new members into the group; accounts that are obviously fake are blocked. Spammers are like viruses, though: They evolve. Once in a while they fool us and manage to get through the barrier. As soon as offensive content is spotted its deleted. If you see something inappropriate, were sorry, but we cant control it all. We can only deal with it when we see it. Thanks for your patience and understanding. 3) We do everything we can to keep the posts directly related to orangutan conservation, but on occasion something slightly off-topic gets posted. Sometimes we delete it, sometimes not. Its kinda ad hoc. One general rule of opposable thumb is: If theres a post thats off-topic but group members start actively commenting (not just LIKING) we usually leave it and just let it run its course. No harm. No foul. This isnt the end of the world. Elephants need love too. So do gorillas, chimps, tigers, rhinos and tauntauns.
