Hi everyone. So last night we had some amazing northern lights happening. I quickly grabbed the camera and tripod and out I went. I have never attempted night photography but had been paying attention to some of the posts about it. This photograph was my first attempt. It was shot in RAW format with my D7100, f/2.8, 10.00 s, ISO 100, 40 mm and tripod. So now based off this I have questions: What is causing the weird circular banding? What should my settings have been at? Also out of the following lenses which would have been best: 18-55 mm, 70-300 mm, 55-200 mm and this one 40 mm? I still think its a very cool picture though...LOL
