“Hidden Faces” by American abstract painter, Tim Flynn, opens at Anderson Galeria February 13 For Immediate Release 28 January 2014 Contact: Paul Anderson novelchm@gmail andersongaleria.pt Lisbon, Portugal (28 January 2014) — For Immediate Release: Anderson Galeria is proud to present an exhibition of complex abstractionism paintings by Tim Flynn opening February 13. The press is invited to attend the opening reception from 7pm to 9pm. Tim Flynns title work, Hidden Faces“ is quintessential complex abstractionism. To look at a painting and see something new from time to time is always thrilling to me, says Mr. Flynn. It is like the art is alive and what I see in it always changing. That is what I try to achieve in my own work. Flynn grew up in Northern California among a family of artists. I never did much care for figurative art, but I did it anyway always knowing something was missing. When I was ten years old, I discovered Gerhard Richter and seeing his work forever changed my life. I knew then I wanted to be an abstract painter. By the time I was 14, I became obsessed with what I call complex abstractionism. I enjoyed finding figurative representations in abstract art.and in my own work. Complex abstractionism must always be accidental. You can always tell when an artist is being intentional and it never works. Anderson Galeria is located in Bairro Alto off Rua da Rosa at Travessa dos Fieirs Deus, 74. The gallery is open to the public Thursdays and Fridays from 7pm to 9pm. Private viewings are available by appointment. Visit the gallery Web site at andersongaleria.pt for updates. Hidden Faces runs from February to August 2014.
