Hire a Cherry Tree Orchard location: Wandin (1hr East of Melbourne) Hire rate: $165 (inc GST) We are offering a unique opportunity for the general public to hire a cherry tree on our orchard. We maintain the tree, and contact you when the cherries are ripe and ready to harvest. You come to the orchard and pick your tree. All the cherries on your tree are yours to keep. Average crop yields are 12 to 15 kg per tree. We have 5 varieties available for hire. Each variety will ripen at a different time, from early to mid December through to early to mid January. You receive a certificate with your tree number on it. You can share a tree with a friend or group of friends or even hire a tree for someone else as a Christmas present. You cannot get fresher cherries than picked straight off a tree. We can assure you that the flavour of freshly picked cherries is a different experience to what you buy in the shop. Freshly picked cherries can store in your fridge for weeks. This is very different to a U-Pick orchard where you have to pay $10 to walk onto the property and the trees your are sent to are practically picked clean already. Your tree will be waiting for you with its full crop. Bring baskets, buckets or whatever and pick your tree clean. We will guide you as to how cherries should be picked properly ensuring the buds are still there for next years crop. PM me for further details. We will have a web site up very soon.
