I Google Earthed the quarters where we lived in 1962 located on the Ft. Monmouth Officers Mess golf course in Eatontown, NJ. Yeah....they put officer housing in the middle of the course. How convenient! I noticed that the golf course was open to the public from a sign at the entrance. I found that strange and called the number on the sign. I found out that FT. Monmouth had been closed. I mentioned that I had lived in the housing on the golf course. They said the houses had been sold to a developer who was going to tear them all down. I went up their during the holidays and walked down memory lane. The trees were bigger and some were growing in the middle of the place we played baseball behind the house. LOL..I even found a few golf balls in the yard...Some great memories cam back...Glad to make the visit before it is all gone.
