I always have this awful fear of the seas.. Maybe because i am not a good swimmer myself.. I fear that I will drown.. I imagine myself gulping a lot of salt water.. gasping for air.. panicking to death.. Being scared under water I think is a rational fear because we are not terrestrial beings.. The idea of me plunging into the dark unknown was beyond inconceivable.. It is dreadful enough not to know what’s at the bottom.. I’ve never been there and I am afraid some sea monsters will attack me.. even as I child I absolutely have not imagined myself as the mermaid Arielle.. Never did it dawned on me that I would be loving scuba diving as much as I do today.. at depths of 115ft and even do night dives..(and i intend to go deeper and explore further with the help of my instructor and reliable dive buddies.. :-) Nothing beats that feeling of absolute freedom.. the feeling of weightlessness.. like an astronaut floating on inner space.. exploring a whole new planet.. the ultimate experience of calmness where everything moves slowly and the only thing I hear is my breathing. . . and all my problems and worries I leave it all in dry land.. I am in a whole new underworld.. admiring its beauty.. playing and chasing fishes and in total commune with mother nature.. all with the very deep sense of relaxation.. plus I also admit that I feel proud of myself :-) because I have yet again overcome one of my greatest fears.. another accomplishment for an adventurous spirit like me.. I am proud to say that we still have a rich marine life at our very own Sierra Islands.. We have identified 12 potential dive sites which can boost our tourism here in Catbalogan.. Discovering our underwater beauty makes me want to really take care of our marine life.. to conserve, protect, restore what’s left and stop illegal activities that destroys our marine environment.. some part of the video will show u the effect of dynamite fishing that kills our reef ecosystem.. hoping to drive awareness in my own little way..
