I am SO tired of saying, Im about to do this. or Im going to do - TopicsExpress

I am SO tired of saying, Im about to do this. or Im going to do that. and never doing it. Ever since dropping out of college I havent had a goal, nothing to work towards or concentrate on reaching. Just month after monotonous month of working. Social life? Ha! What a joke. Im tired of walking with the herd, tired of the monotony of small town life. I want to travel, see the world around me. I want to experience different people, cultures, and ways of life. Even if it is just a few states away. So, I am going to do something that people dream of doing. That IVE dreamt of doing since childhood. Im going to do it because Im young and full of life and energy. Im going to do it while I CAN do it. Before I settle down and kids come along and I regret not doing it. In the fall of 2016, my best friend, Whitney Abels and I are going on a cross country road trip. Just the two of us. Across Texas, New Mexico, Arizona. Into Nevada. Up California to Oregon and Washington. Idaho and Montana. South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado. Kansas and Oklahoma. Just me and my best friend. Were hitting everything from the Grand Canyon and the Redwood Forest to Roswell and Area 51. Vegas and the Hoover Dam. Deserts, forests, mountains, you name it and were going to see it. Sleeping in a tent in National Forests, in the car, or just where ever we lay our heads down. Were going to be hiking some of the most beautiful places in America and white water rafting in a place called Dinosaur. My body, however, is not physically ready for such a strain. So, in preparation, for the next two years Im going to push myself to get in shape, to train. Shed some pounds and build the muscle Im going to need. Some people might call it crazy, but that is what being young is about! Doing something crazy, if only to feel totally and completely alive for but a fleeting moment, every molecule in you screaming with anticipation, feeling like you are part of a world so much larger than our tiny town of Ponchatoula. There is whole WORLD out there just waiting to be explored! Imagine being able to stand at the edge of the Grand Canyon or looking up at the starry Milky way from some far flung forest miles away from city lights and feeling so connected to this wonderful planet we call home. To have those moments when you realize how big the world is around you and feel completely and utterly small in comparison. THESE are the moments Im leaving in search for. These are the moments that every person should feel at least once in a life time.
