I am a little slow getting to this, but Tara Savage Zelvy gave me - TopicsExpress

I am a little slow getting to this, but Tara Savage Zelvy gave me a 5, which kinda shows that she really knows me (because I DO go on), so here goes: 1. When I was little, I had an imaginary friend that was a bee. Little Bee lived in my pocket and could change size to match whatever activity we were doing (big for tree climbing, small for fitting in my pocket). In the backseat of the car, Little Bee lived in a Kleenex bed in the ashtray in the car door. Remember those? I believe that Little Bee protected me from being stung by a bee until I was about 32! 2. I didnt know I was gay until I fell in love with Arla Jones at the age of 28 or so. 3. I had a woolen winter coat when I was about 8 that had a fake fur collar. I thought it was very regal, and that wearing it made me a princess, especially when riding in the car. I imagined that my parents were my staff, and I would do the royal wave at passing cars. 4. We lived about two and a half hours from Chicago when I was little, and we went there quite often. There was a huge Sinclair dinosaur billboard on the outskirts of the city when I was little. It was motorized to wag its tail. I loved lying in the back window of the car as we drove out of town (before seatbelts were a thing), so that I could watch the dino until it was too small to see. Then I would watch the moon follow us home. 5. Echoing Kelly Rathbun Hart, reading aloud with students makes me cry. I really have to choose my reading material wisely! Any hint of something poignant, and I fall apart. :-) Want a number, anyone?
